New Toyota Hilux Reaches First Owner – Mary Kom Takes Delivery


Six-time World Champion and Olympic medallist Ms. M. C. Mary Kom recently took delivery of the all-new Hilux pickup truck. Celebrating the occasion of Independence Day, the new vehicle was formally handed over to Ms. M.C. Mary Kom at Toyota dealership in Delhi-NCR region. The 2026 Toyota Hilux lineup is offered in three trims – GX 4X2 AT, GX 4X4 AT and VX 4X4 AT – priced at Rs 31.99 lakh, Rs 33.69 lakh and Rs 36.69 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom).

Engine, Power & Off-Road Features

Designed under the “Tough & Agile” concept, the 2026 Toyota Hilux comes powered by a 2.8-litre diesel, four-cylinder diesel engine, generating power worth 204bhp and 500Nm of torque. The pickup truck is available exclusively with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox and is offered with both 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain options.

The 4X4 variants offer some exclusive features including an electronic differential lock, a low-range transfer case, traction control, downhill assist control, multiple terrain modes and an auto limited-slip differential.

Interior & Features

In terms of features, the new Toyota Hilux offers a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, an 8-speaker audio system, a PM2.5 air filter, a wireless charger, connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, and enhanced comfort features. However, unlike the global-spec version, the India-spec Hilux misses out on ventilated front seats, dual zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and ADAS.

The safety kit includes 7 SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), front and rear parking sensors, Isofix child seat mounts, ABS with brake assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Dimensions

Dimensionally, the 2026 Toyota Hilux measures 5,320mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,815mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,085mm. Compared to the previous generation, the new Hilux is 5mm shorter in length.
