Here’s the first teaser of the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The carmaker has confirmed that the midsize SUV will go on sale on April 9, 2026. While specific design details remain under wraps, the teaser showcases its silhouette, which appears similar to the existing model. The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift is expected to receive cosmetic and feature upgrades similar to those seen on the new Skoda Kushaq along with the addition of an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Previously surfaced spy images suggest that the updated Taigun will feature a slightly revised front grille with an LED light bar and an illuminated VW badge at the centre. It’s also likely to get redesigned LED headlamps and taillamps. The fog lamps might also be updated, along with a new set of alloy wheels.

Dimensions & Colours
Dimensionally, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun is expected to remain unchanged. The midsize SUV measures 4,221mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,612mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,651mm. It has a ground clearance of 188mm (unladen), and a boot space of 385-litres, which is expandable up to 1,450-litres. Volkswagen might introduce the facelifted lineup in new exterior colour options.

The interior layout will remain unchanged. However, the new Taigun is likely to receive a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger and rear seats with massaging function.
A New Powertrain Option?

The 1.0L TSI engine delivers a maximum power of 115bhp, while the 1.5L TSI unit returns a claimed power of 150bhp. The 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine could get a new 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, whereas the 1.5L turbo motor will continue to be offered with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
