The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift is now on sale in India. The updated lineup comes in seven variants – Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport – with prices ranging from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 19.3 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-end GT Plus trim is available exclusively with a 1.5L TSI petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. A new 8-speed automatic transmission is offered in Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line and Topline trims.

Volkswagen has also introduced an assured buyback program, ensuring 75% of the ex-showroom price as resale value within 3 years or 30,000km. The offer is valid for bookings made till May 31, 2026.

One of the major upgrades comes in the form of a new 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, replacing the older 6-speed unit. This transmission is exclusively offered with the 1.0L TSI petrol engine, producing power worth 115bhp. The 150bhp, 1.5L TSI engine continues to be available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox options. Mechanically, the new Taigun also receives rear disc brakes in the higher trims.
New Volkswagen Taigun 2026: New Features
The facelifted Taigun offers a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and an updated 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other key additions include a 6-speaker sound system, a wireless phone charging, updated AC unit, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats and ambient lighting. Most features are carried over from the pre-facelift version.

Subtle changes have been made on the exterior. The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift now features a Tayron-inspired front fascia, featuring a slimmer grille, redesigned headlamps, sportier bumper and illuminated VW badge. Other key updates include newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels, revised LED taillamps with sequential turn indicators and a tweaked rear bumper.
