The long-awaited Nissan Tekton has finally been launched in India, prices ranging from Rs 10.49 lakh – 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested buyers can book the SUV, while deliveries will begin on July 20. In Nissan India’s portfolio, the Tekton will sit above the Magnite and will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate and Volkswagen Taigun.
Following the Magnite subcompact SUV, it’s the brand’s second model to be delivered under Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy and will be exported from India to multiple international markets. The Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai will serve as the manufacturing hub for both domestic and export markets.

Design Highlights
The Nissan Tekton is essentially the rebadged Renault Duster, featuring Nissan Patrol-inspired design language. The front fascia looks quite aggressive and rugged with a large grille with two chrome strips, LED headlamps, connected LED DRLs, a dual-tone bumper and a sculpted bonnet.
The side profile remains largely identical to the Duster, featuring pronounced wheel arches, a ‘Double-C’ design element on the front doors, roof rails and window integrated rear door handles. At the rear, the SUV sports a full-width LED light bar with prominent Tekton badging, connected LED taillamps and a roof-mounted spoiler.

Interior & Features
The new Nissan SUV shares its interior and features with the Renault Duster. Higher trims come equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google integration and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
Other highlights include a six-speaker Arkamys sound system, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, dual-zone automatic climate control, passive keyless entry, a powered tailgate, push-button start, ventilated front seats, paddle shifters on automatic variants, lumbar adjustment, leatherette upholstery, an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, 60:40 split-folding rear seats and more.
On the safety front, the Nissan Tekton offers six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with auto hold a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Turbo-Petrol Engine Options
Similar to the Renault Duster, the Nissan Tekton is offered with two turbocharged petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 100bhp and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 163bhp. Both engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.3-litre engine is also available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
