Nissan Tekton SUV Launch June 2026 – How Different Is It From Duster?

The Japanese carmaker has confirmed that the upcoming Nissan Tekton midsize SUV is now nearly production ready, and will debut in June 2026. Earlier, it reports had suggested an April unveiling. The Tekton is essentially a rebadged version of the new Renault Duster, but with a different design language. However, its platform, powertrain, features and key components will remain similar to the Duster.

Design Highlights

The design and styling of the Tekton will be heavily inspired by the rugged Nissan Patrol. Official teasers reveal that the SUV will feature Nissan’s signature grille, LED headlamps with a connected LED DRL and a raised bonnet with ‘Tekton’ badging. At the back, it will sport ‘Tekton’ lettering on the tailgate and a connected LED taillamp setup.

Interior

Interior details are not available at the moment. However, the upcoming Nissan Tekton is likely to feature a three-tone dashboard with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a sunroof, ventilated front seats and more.

Safety Features

On the safety front, the new Nissan SUV is expected to offer six airbags protection along with a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Turbo Power

The Nissan Tekton will come with two turbocharged petrol engine options, borrowed from the Duster, a 1.3L and a 1.0L. The 1.3L turbo petrol engine, which will be reserved for the higher trims, will deliver power worth 156bhp. The smaller 1.0L petrol unit will offer a maximum power of 100bhp with 160Nm.

7-Seater & Hybrid Tekton

Similar to the Renault Duster, the Nissan Tekton is also expected to receive a 1.8L petrol hybrid powertrain later this year. While the Tekton will initially be a 5-seater SUV, a three-row version might arrive in 2027. This model will be a derivative of the Renault Boreal (the 7-seater version of the Duster).
