Alongside the Nothing Phone (4b), the UK-based company also unveiled the Nothing Ear (3a), its latest pair of true wireless earbuds.
The Nothing Ear (3a) features an in-ear design with a silicone ear tip, which is now available in a new XS size. Each earbud is equipped with a 12mm dynamic driver, which Nothing claims delivers up to 5dB stronger bass than the Ear (a).
The earbuds offer active noise cancellation (ANC) of up to 45dB, along with a Transparency mode and support for Spatial Audio.
Each earbud houses three microphones with AI-powered noise reduction. There’s a new audio recording feature that lets users record directly to the earbuds using their built-in 32MB storage. Users can record up to one minute of audio, including up to 30 seconds of sound that played before recording began.
With ANC enabled, the Nothing Ear (3a) is rated to deliver up to six hours of playback on a single charge and up to 25 hours with the charging case. Disabling ANC extends battery life to up to 10 hours on the earbuds and 42 hours with the case.
The earbuds also support fast charging, with a five-minute charge claimed to provide up to one hour of playback. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 6.0, Google Fast Pair, and support for SBC, AAC, and LDAC audio codecs.
While the overall design of the earbud matches that of the older Ear (a), the charging case has been redesigned with a rounder shape and also comes with an improved status light.
The Nothing Ear (3a) comes in Black, Pink, White, and Yellow colour options and is priced at $99 (£99/€99).
