nubia has unveiled its new Neo 5 series of gaming-focused smartphones at the ongoing MWC Barcelona. The lineup includes the Neo 5, Neo 5 GT, and Neo 5 Max. However, the company has only revealed the full specifications of the Neo 5 GT so far.
The nubia Neo 5 GT is claimed to be the only smartphone in its segment to feature a built-in active cooling fan. It also includes a large 29,508mm² cooling chamber designed to keep the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC running cool.
Other gaming-focused features include LPDDR Max RAM with speeds of up to 6,400Mbps, a 360-degree game antenna, 550Hz Neo Triggers 5.0, and a display with a 3,049Hz instant touch sampling rate.
Speaking of the display, the Neo 5 GT sports a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits.
The phone packs a 6,210mAh dual-cell battery that supports 80W wired charging, along with bypass charging for gaming sessions.
The nubia Neo 5 GT features a 50MP triple rear camera setup along with a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. The device also comes with stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support, RGB lighting, an IP64 rating, AI Game Space 5.0, and several other AI-powered features.
It will be available globally, with the first rollout set to begin in Southeast Asia. The phone will start at €399 and will be offered in three color options.
The standard Neo 5, meanwhile, will start at €299 and will also be available in three shades. nubia did not reveal many details about the Neo 5 Max, but confirmed that it will feature a large 7.5-inch display.
