nubia’s NaviX Ultra AI phone is coming this month

Back in July, nubia first talked about the NaviX Ultra, an “AI-powered smartphone” because nubia didn’t want to let a company you’ve probably never heard of claim that title all by itself.

Now the nubia NaviX Ultra has been certified in China by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) – or rather, its built-in AI Large Language Model (LLM) got the green light (as all AI models have to in China, by law).

The phone was jointly developed by nubia and ByteDance, the company behind TikTok. It will be available in four colors: blue, black, white, and “Dream”. nubia today also announced that the NaviX Ultra will be launching later this month.

That’s when the company will make its specs official. In the meantime, all we have to go on is a rumor from late July claiming the NaviX Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and that it has a 6.78-inch screen with “1.5K” resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.

On the rear it’s rumored to sport a triple camera setup with a 50MP main shooter, while for selfies there’s a 50MP camera on the front. The device has a 7,100 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.
