In August 2026, Skoda India sold a total of 5,650 units, compared to 4,971 units in the same month last year, registering 14% YoY (Year-on-Year) growth. The Skoda Kylaq remained the brand’s best-selling model, with sales of 3,590 units against 3,099 units in August 2025. The subcompact SUV accounted 63.5 percent of Skoda’s total sales in August 2026. In fact, the Kylaq outsold Volkswagen’s entire India lineup, which recorded sales of 2,283 units last month.

Key Details
Since its launch, the Skoda Kylaq has been admired for its European driving dynamics, best-in-segment boot space, powerful 1.0TSI turbo petrol engine and 5-star BNCAP safety rating. The subcompact is offered with a single 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TSI turbocharged petrol engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The engine delivers combined power and torque outputs stand at 115PS and 178Nm, respectively.
The smallest Skoda SUV features with a front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration. Skoda claims that the Kylaq offers a fuel efficiency of 19.68kmpl with the manual and 19.05kmpl with the automatic gearbox. The subcompact SUV accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 10.5 seconds and has a top speed of 188kmph.
CNG Under Consideration
Skoda Auto is currently evaluating a CNG version of the Kylaq for the Indian market. According to reports, the CNG kit could be offered as a dealer-level retrofit option and could be available exclusively with the manual gearbox. The Skoda Kylaq CNG is likely to offer a fuel efficiency of around 25-30km/kg. In near future, the Kylaq lineup will be updated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Prices & Competition
The Skoda Kylaq SUV lineup is currently priced between Rs 7.59 lakh – Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The manual variants are priced from Rs 7.59 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh, while the automatic variants cost between Rs 9.25 lakh – Rs 12.99 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
In the subcompact SUV, the Skoda Kylaq competes with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
