OnePlus Nord 6 in for review

This is the OnePlus Nord 6, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone and successor to last year’s Nord 5. It’s a variant of the OnePlus Turbo 6 that launched in China earlier this year, and India is currently the only market slated to receive this device. Today, we will be doing an unboxing as well as looking at a few basic specifications of the device.

The OnePlus Nord 6 comes in newly designed packaging this year that retains the blue Nord color scheme but does away with the large triple Nord logos that have been a mainstay since the original Nord release in 2020. This sleeker look is more in line with the mainline OnePlus device packaging, save for the colors.

Inside the packaging is the phone along with a color-matched silicone case. These cases have been a standard inclusion for OnePlus devices in the Indian market, and it’s good to see that they continue to be included with all the downsizing happening everywhere else in the industry.

Also included in the packaging is the 80W fast charger along with a red charging cable.

Getting back to the phone, the OnePlus Nord 6 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. The phone has the same 165Hz AMOLED display as seen on the OnePlus 15, along with a massive 9000mAh battery. You also get IP66/68/69/69K ingress protection, and the phone comes in three colors: silver, black, and green, as pictured here.

The Nord 6 has a revised set of cameras compared to the Chinese Turbo 6. The main 50MP Sony Lytia camera is the same on both, but the Nord 6 also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The 16MP front camera from the Turbo 6 has also been replaced with a 32MP unit.

That’s all we can say for now. Check back next week when the OnePlus Nord 6 goes on sale on April 7.
