Oppo Watch X3 in for review

This is the Oppo Watch X3,and it may or may not come to the global stage. But we’ve got our fingers crossed, because its predecessor became a globally available wearable.

The smartwatch comes in Orange, Black, or this Titanium, and costs CNY 2,800. It ships with a 4-pin wireless charger and a USB cable.

There’s more than a skin-deep resemblance between the Oppo Watch X3 and the OnePlus Watch 3. They’re not the same, mind – while the OnePlus wearable uses stainless steel, the Oppo Watch X3 uses Titanium, which is lighter. It shows, too, as the Oppo is just 43 grams, while the OnePlus is nearly 50g.

The Watch X3 also has a sapphire crystal glass on top of its display, and it’s flush with the bezel. The strap is the softest fluororubber we’ve encountered. It fits like a glove. There are two metal pins on either side, dubbed “bamboo joints”. They angle the strap perfectly to the wrist, so there’s no bowing.

The smartwatch runs WearOS 5.0 with Oppo’s ColorOS Watch 16.0. It’s a fluid affair with snappy visuals. There are three control points – the display (duh), the rotating crown, which doubles as a button, and the fitness key below it, which also serves as the biometric sensor for measurements like SpO2 or ECG.

The watch is capable of reading your glucose levels, as well as monitoring your blood pressure for hypertension (that’s high blood pressure). We haven’t yet tested those features.
