Panoramic Sunroof & New 8-Speed AT?

The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift will soon hit showrooms; however, its exact launch date has not yet been announced. Ahead of its official arrival, the compact SUV has been spotted testing multiple times with heavy to semi-camouflage, revealing interesting design details. This time, the spied test mule was a left-hand-drive model intended for export markets. The India-bound right-hand-drive version is likely to receive the similar updates.

What have the spy images revealed so far?

2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift

Painted in red colour scheme, the new Volkswagen Taigun features a newly-designed front grille with two chrome strips, LED headlamps connected by an LED light bar and an illuminated VW logo in the centre. The taillamps, which were heavily camouflaged, are expected to be redesigned. Previous spy images revealed that the SUV will feature blacked-out rear bumper, reflectors and a chrome strip at the rear. Other design highlights will include body-coloured ORVMs, silver roof rails and new alloy wheels.

Panormaic Sunroof & More

Interior details are still under the wraps. However, the feature upgrades are expected to be similar to those offered in the new Skoda Kushaq. The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 is likely to come with a panoramic sunroof, a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, automatic AC unit and massaging rear seats.

New 8-speed AT Gearbox?

Similar to the new Kushaq facelift, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun is expected to feature the 150bhp, 1.5L turbo and 115bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engines. The smaller 1.0L TSI petrol motor could be paired with a new 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, along with a 6-speed manual transmission option. The larger 1.5L turbo petrol engine will continue to come with a 7-speed DCT gearbox only.

Pricing & Competition

In the midsise SUV segment, the new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, new Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate and Skoda Kushaq. Prices are expected to be slightly higher than the current model.
