Petrol vehicles have lost a significant market share in 2025, while diesel (18.33%), CNG (21.15%), EV (4.61%) and hybrid (2.64%) segments registered growth during the same period. Demand for diesel vehicles remained stable, majorly driven by SUVs, while small diesel cars witnessed a decline in sales. Buyers continue to prefer diesel over petrol due to its lower running costs, better fuel efficiency and strong performance.
If you’re planning to buy a diesel SUV, there will be five new options arriving by the end of 2026. Let’s take a look at the key details of these upcoming diesel SUVs.
