Launched in 2021, the Mahindra XUV 700 has received minor updates and special editions between 2022-2025, followed by a major facelift in 2026. With the latest update, the SUV has witnessed significant upgrades both inside and out along with a new nomenclature – the Mahindra XUV 7XO. Attributes such as powerful engines, segment-first features, safety credibility and value for money have always been its key USPs, resulting in high sales volumes.
Aiming to challenge its dominance in the segment, OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Renault, Toyota, Kia and MG are planning to introduce new models in 2026-2027. While the pricing and positioning of these upcoming SUVs are expected to be similar to the Mahindra XUV 7XO, their powertrain will be different including strong hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric.
