The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift has entered production at the Chakan facility in Pune ahead of its market launch on April 9, 2026. The carmaker states that the updated model “delivers an edgy new design with premium features.” While official details will be revealed with its price announcement, the SUV is expected to receive subtle changes both inside and out.

New Volkswagen Taigun 2026 – Design Changes

The front fascia appears to be inspired by the Volkswagen Tayron SUV, featuring a newly-designed grille with an illuminated VW logo, redesigned headlamps with a connected LED element, sportier bumper with a chrome embellishment. It also gets chromed door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, silver roof rails and front diffuser.
The updated Taigun GT trim looks sportier than the regular variant with a gloss black bumper and black treatment on the ORVMs, alloy wheels, roof rails and front diffuser. At the rear, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun is likely to sport redesigned LED taillamps with an illuminated signature logo and revised bumper.
New Volkswagen Taigun 2026 – Interior & Features
Interior details are still under the wraps. However, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to come with a new touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital driver’s display. On the feature front, it could get a panoramic sunroof, updated AC unit and rear seats with massaging function. The rest of the features will be carried over from the pre-facelift version.
New Volkswagen Taigun 2026 – Engine Options
Mechanically, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to remain unchanged. This means, the SUV lineup will continue to come with the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engine options. The smaller three-cylinder engine delivers a maximum power of 115bhp and 178Nm of torque. It could be offered with a new 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox along with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.5L, four-cylinder petrol engine pushes out a peak power of 150bhp and 250Nm of torque.
Expected Prices & Competition
Considering the cosmetic and feature upgrades, the new Taigun facelift is likely to see a minor price hike. The current lineup is priced between Rs 11.42 lakh – Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). In the midsize SUV segment, this Volkswagen will continue to take on the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, among others.
