Design Highlights

Similar to its ICE counterpart, the Sierra EV will feature an upright and bold stance. However, a few EV-specific cosmetic changes will differentiate it from the ICE-powered Sierra. Upfront, the EV will sport a closed-off grille, a flat bumper with a light bar and a raised bonnet. The newly-designed aero-optimized alloy wheels, short overhands, connected LED light bar at the rear and wraparound glass will further enhance its EV-specific look.

Expected Powertrains

According to media reports, the Tata Sierra EV might share the 55kWh battery from the Curvv EV and 65kWh battery from the Harrier EV. The smaller 55kWh battery pack comes paired with a front-axle mounted electric motor, and delivers a claimed power of 167PS and 215Nm of torque on the Curvv EV. This setup promises a claimed MIDC range of 502km on a full charge.

In Tata Harrier EV, the 65kWh battery pack is paired with a rear-wheel drive single electric motor, offering a claimed MIDC range of 538km. Its power and torque output stand at 238PS and 315Nm, respectively. The performance figures for the Sierra EV are likely to be more or less similar to its EV siblings.

Price Prediction

Once launched, the Tata Sierra EV will compete against the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, the newly-launched Maruti e Vitara and the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. While its prices will be officially announced in the coming months, the Sierra EV is expected to be priced from Rs 20 lakh for the entry-level variant.
