Qualcomm has announced it will host its annual Snapdragon Summit from September 22-24 in Maui, Hawaii.
While Qualcomm hasn’t revealed what it will announce at this Snapdragon Summit, it’s likely the US-based chipmaker will introduce a successor to last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, rumored to be called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950).
However, that might not be the only mobile platform Qualcomm will announce at the Summit, as it’s rumored to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975) as well.
A recent leak revealed that Qualcomm is also working on two 3nm chips: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX version (SM8850Q) and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro (SM8845 Pro).
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 were unveiled last year, bearing part numbers SM8850 and SM8845, respectively. It’s unclear how different the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX version will be from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, so we’ll have to wait for more details to surface to have a better idea of this chip.
