Eight years after Sridevi’s death, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s raw online tributes still stand out. On February 24, 2018, the iconic actor passed away. The news shook the film industry. Varma responded with a series of deeply personal posts that revealed a side of him many fans had never seen. His emotional messages about the ‘Kshana Kshanam’ and ‘Govinda Govinda’ star quickly drew attention and sparked conversation across social media.According to TNN, Ram Gopal Varma had long expressed admiration for Sridevi. The outlet reported that when ‘Awe’ director Prasanth Varma wrote in 2011, “People are always comparing me with RGV. But really guys, there are 2 things common between us, surname and sridevi,” (sic) RGV later shared a screenshot of that post to underline his affection for her.

When Varma heard about Sridevi’s passing in the early hours of February 25, 2018, he posted a message titled “I HATE GOD FOR KILLING SRIDEVI AND I HATE SRIDEVI FOR DYING” on social media. In the post, he described how he first fell in love with her beauty after watching ‘Padaharella Vayasu.’ He recalled standing outside her house during the shoot of his debut film ‘Shiva,’ hoping to catch a glimpse of her while working with Nagarjuna and Amala.He wrote about their first meeting in vivid detail. “The way Sridevi sat in front of me in the candle light got imprinted in my mind like an exquisite painting and with her image completely filling both my mind and my heart I started writing Kshana Kshanam.” (sic) He also said that ‘Kshana Kshanam’ was his love letter to her. He ended the post with, “I love you Sri wherever you are… and I will always love you.” (sic)
