The Realme 16T is the first, member of the new 16T series. Realme dubbed it a Portrait Star with an 8,000mAh battery. Need we say more? Alright, we will. Let’s unbox the 16T.
The box features all you need – the phone, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a 45W charger, and a case.
Let’s talk specs. The Realme 16T flaunts a 6.8-inch 1570x720px 144Hz LCD upfront. The fingerprint scanner is moved to the right side of the frame.
Ticking inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC with an 8-core CPU and the Mali-G57 MC graphics processor. Our unit has 8 gigs of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The truly impressive number is 8000 – the battery capacity. The 8,000mAh power pack comes with a promise of 7 years of health. Realme also touts that the 16T will be smooth for at least 6 years. This is achieved through smart software control – the phone will scan for storage fragments, clean up redundant data, organize file structure, and do a deep maintenance operation when you’re asleep.
The Realme 16T we have at the office is the Aurora Green version. Global buyers will also get a Starlight Black model, while Indian users are treated to an exclusive Starlight Red.
Our unit has what Realme calls the “Gleaming Wings Gradient Texture Process”, and it appears on the back panel under specific light. The finish adds a nice textured feel to the phone in the hand.
Finally, a word on cameras. The 50MP main camera on the back teams up with the Aura Flash, which brings a few lighting modes and a selfie mirror, which is its party trick.
Realme’s going for the fun of taking photos with friends with the mirror. It is kind of fun, looking at your distorted image on the tiny circular mirror.
The flash can adjust depending on the lighting conditions and offer different effects – plain flash, studio light, rim light, etc.
The phone has a selfie mirror and and the AI Portrait Glow flash
We’ll bring you battery life numbers for the new Realme 16T in due time.
