‘Red, White & Royal Wedding’ wraps filming as Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine celebrate on set

Taylor Zakhar Perez, the breakout heartthrob from ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’, has fans buzzing with fresh teases about the sequel, ‘Red, White & Royal Wedding’. The 2023 rom-com smash, which ignited queer romance fever, spawned a book sequel and now this film adaptation, centering Princess Beatrice’s nuptials as Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry navigate love amid royal chaos. Perez, reprising his role as the charismatic Alex opposite Nicholas Galitzine’s Henry, dropped behind-the-scenes joy in a Deadline exclusive, signaling the production’s triumphant wrap. Directed by Jamie Babbit and penned by Matthew López, Gemma Burgess, and Casey McQuiston, the project builds on the original’s 2024 novel follow-up.

Production wrap-up celebration

Filming concluded swiftly in early March 2026, after Perez hinted at a 2026 start in late 2025 interviews. He shared a TikTok clip capturing the wrap party, where he, Galitzine, Rachel Hilson, and Babbit cheered with the clapperboard. Perez exclaimed, “You’re done,” followed by Galitzine and Hilson repeating it. Babbit beamed, “‘Red, White & Royal Wedding’s a wrap! Every person is, including me.” The lighthearted video underscores the cast’s camaraderie, echoing the first film’s electric chemistry that generated massive streams. Earlier BTS from Instagram showed Perez and Galitzine goofing on set: “Welcome back!” Galitzine said, before clarifying, “Oh, I did want to say that we are here for Bea’s wedding.” Perez chimed in, “Yeah, we just wanted to clarify, you know? We’re not… Don’t get confused… We’re not getting married.” Their playful denial fueled fan theories, though the title spotlights Beatrice’s event.

Tease and hype around ‘Red, White & Royal Wedding’

Perez has masterfully built anticipation. In a GQ chat from the London set, he discussed juggling the shoot with Lacoste campaigns, teasing undisclosed rom-com adaptations. Back in November 2025, Cinema Express quoted him on the script: He hopes to begin working in 2026, calling it primed for royal wedding drama. An IMDb update echoed his December reveal: “After officially getting the greenlight, Taylor Zakhar Perez hopes to get to work… in the new year,” after reading the script. The original’s success, with its forbidden romance between the U.S. president’s son and British prince, demands this encore. No release date yet, but Prime Video eyes a 2027 drop. Perez’s star rises with ‘A Family Affair’ alongside Zac Efron, positioning him as rom-com king.
