As expected, Xiaomi unveiled its newest Redmi K-series phones in China today, and they are equipped with some impressive specs. Though they look alike, they also bring several key differences.

Redmi K100 Pro gets Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series (SM8850-1-AB) chip, which is a binned version of the regular SD Elite Gen 5. The major change is on the GPU side, where the Adreno 840 GPU comes with two cores running at 1.2GHz instead of three units clocked at 1.3GHz.
The K100 Pro Max comes with the regular SD Elite Gen 5, and both phones are paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. The other differences between the two boil down to their displays, cameras and battery capacity.
The K100 Pro is equipped with a 6.56-inch OLED panel featuring 1.5K (2,510 x 1,156px) resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate. The K100 Pro Max features a larger 6.9-inch AMOLED with 2,608 x 1,200 px resolution and the same 185Hz refresh rate.
Moving to the cameras, both phones bring 200MP main shooters with a 1/1.56-inch sensor. But the K100 Pro Max brings a more capable 50MP periscope telephoto lens (ISOCELL JN5) with 5x optical zoom compared to the 2.5x telephoto lens on the K100 Pro. You also get a 50MP ultrawide (OV50M) lens with the Max, while the regular Pro is left with an 8MP ultrawide. Both phones also feature a Bose-tuned rear subwoofer.
In terms of battery, Redmi K100 Pro features an 8,580mAh Si-C battery while the Pro Max version gets a slightly larger 9,070 mAh Si-C cell. Both phones support 100W wired, 50W wireless and 27W reverse wired charging. Both phones also feature IP66/68/69 ingress protection.

If last year’s Redmi K90 Pro and K90 Pro Max transition to the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra on the international stage is any indication, we could very well see the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max as the Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra later this year.
