A leak late last month suggested that the Redmi Note 17 series would debut in China in July. Redmi has now made it official, confirming that the new Note lineup will indeed launch this month.
The announcement came as part of a milestone celebration for the Redmi Note series. In a Weibo post, the company revealed that global sales of the Redmi Note lineup have surpassed 500 million units.
Notably, the Redmi Note lineup has been in the market for about 12 years now. The Redmi Note 17 series will succeed the Note 15 lineup from last year and will offer improvements in performance, display, battery, and others.
The Redmi Note 17 is said to come with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, a flat display with a 1.5K resolution, 50MP main rear camera, and a 9,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the Note 17 Pro is tipped to get a Dimensity 7500 SoC, a 10,000mAh battery, and a 200MP main rear sensor.
