Renault Bridger Rendered Ahead of Debut: Defender-Like Design; Jimny Rival?


The Renault Bridger concept SUV is set to have its world premiere on March 10, 2026. Ahead of its official unveil, Auto Moto has created a digital rendering based on the first official teaser, offering a glimpse of its rear profile. The SUV appears to have Land Rover Defender-inspired styling with boxy and upright stance. The teaser also shows a tailgate mounted spare tyre and uniquely designed taillamps along with a ‘Bridger Concept’ lettering.

The digital rendering closely follows the teaser, and gives a clearer picture what the SUV could look like. The rendered concept has a boxy silhouette with massive black cladding all around the body, blacked-out pillars, squared-off wheel arches, side steps, black roof rails and conventional door handles. Other design details are yet to be revealed; however, Renault has confirmed that it won’t compromise on space despite the SUV measuring under 4 metre in length.

Expected Engine & Specs

According to media reports, the upcoming Renault Bridger might share its engine with the Kiger subcompact SUV, which is available with a 100bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine and both manual and automatic gearbox options. Speculations is rife that the SUV could also be offered with FWD and 4WD drivetrains, with latter to challenge the Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar 3-door.

Production & Pricing

Interestingly, the Renault Bridger will be designed and developed in India, with an expected launch in 2027. Renault’s Chennai-based manufacturing facility could serve as production hub for the compact SUV. As far as is pricing is concerned, the Bridger could be priced nearly Rs 10 lakh for the entry-level variant. If that happens, it could become the most affordable lifestyle off-road SUV in India.
