RJD song pitches Tejashwi as opposition’s CM face
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in Jehanabad on Tuesday

Patna: A campaign song released by the RJD to mark leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s “Bihar Adhikar Yatra” on Tuesday projected him as the undisputed chief ministerial face of the opposition bloc. The 2.46-minute track, which has lines claiming that no one else is fit for the post, was launched just as Tejashwi set out on his statewide tour from Jehanabad. However, Tejashwi dismissed any suggestion of uncertainty. “There is no confusion over the chief ministerial face in the opposition alliance,” Tejashwi told reporters. “It is the people of Bihar who decide the chief minister and this time they want change in governance,” he added.Asked if he was the popular choice, Tejashwi said, “Better consult the people. But one thing I would like to state here is that there is no confusion about it in our alliance and the CM face will be announced at the right time.”RJD MP Sanjay Yadav said, “The people of Bihar want Tejashwi as the CM. Even if Tejashwi now wants to withdraw from the scene, the masses will not allow him.”Tejashwi outlined his alliance’s priorities if elected, promising a “govt free of crime and corruption”. He said major investments would not come to Bihar without such reforms. “I will not tolerate anarchy, even if my own people are involved,” he added. He said voters were vigilant against “vote manipulations” and demanded justice, jobs, and improvements in health and education. On CM Nitish Kumar’s claim that he would not switch sides again, Tejashwi said, “Unko le kaun raha hai? Even the BJP is not interested in him; they are carrying him only because of elections.”The Bihar Adhikar Yatra will pass through 11 districts before concluding in Vaishali on Sept 20. The RJD said it would cover districts left out of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent “Voter Adhikar Yatra”.“This journey is not only Tejashwi’s journey. It is the journey of the unemployed youth,” he said, pledging to build a “new Bihar, a developed Bihar”.
