Wait, Galaxy A18 4G? Isn’t that still way off in the future and meant to come out in 2027? Well, no. We get the confusion. Unless you live in the US, the Galaxy A17 5G and Galaxy A17 4G actually came out last year in 2026. The Galaxy A27, A37 and even the A07 are, indeed, 2026 models, but Samsung has decided to stick to its one-year refresh cycle rather than worry about naming and year consistency. Anyway, the A17 4G is about a year old now, so it’s time for the A18 4G.
This early look is for the 4G model in particular, though we have little doubt that there will be an A18 5G as well, likely coming out close to the 4G model and with pretty similar specs overall. As for the Galaxy A18 4G, well, it looks very similar to its predecessor both inside and out.
Samsung is sticking to the familiar teardrop notch for the selfie camera and fairly sizeable bezels, particularly the chin. Around the back, the vertical triple camera arrangement is present, and on the right-hand side, you still get that slightly elevated part for the power button and volume rockers. Overall, a bit of an older Samsung styling. Even the color selection looks pretty similar to the current model, with Black, Light Blue, and Silver colors available. The phone’s measurements are allegedly 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7mm, with a weight of 193 grams and an IP64 ingress protection certification.
Specs have barely changed as well. The Galaxy A18 4G offers a 6.7-inch, FullHD+, AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The chipset is a familiar MediaTek Helio G99, paired with 4GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The latter is expandable via microSD card.
A 5,000 mAh battery keeps the lights on and has support for 25W wired charging. The main camera is a 50MP, f/1.8 unit, and it is backed up by a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. Other small details include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3.
So, not a lot of change from last year, but unfortunately, that does not include price. If the source is to be believed, the Galaxy A18 4G will launch with a starting MSRP of €300. For reference, the A17 4G launched at €200, with current listings available in the €160 range. The ongoing 2026 chip situation is just wild.
