Alongside the new S26 series of flagships, Samsung also unveiled the next generation of Galaxy Buds. Samsung polled its users and found that 58% of them use buds on a daily basis – and that sound quality is a top priority. That said, most people tend to use only one pair of headphones for everything, so the buds also had to be comfortable and easy to carry.
These were the priorities that informed the design of the new Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro. Let’s start from the outside – Samsung reworked the case so that the buds lie flat, making them easier to retrieve and store. There is still a transparent top so that you can appreciate the revamped design.
The triangular blades (the stems) give way to flat ones, which are crafted from brushed metal. Samsung also engraved the touch-sensitive area to make it easier to find by touch – the blades support pinch and swipe gestures.
As mentioned above, sound quality was top priority when designing the new buds, so the Galaxy Buds4 Pro feature an improved 2-way speaker system with wider woofer and tweeter. The new speakers are nearly 20% bigger than on the Buds3 Pro. For music, the buds can play up to 24-bit 96kHz Hi-Fi sound.
Galaxy Buds4 features: Pinch and swipe controls • 24-bit 96kHz sound • Real-time translation
The vanilla Galaxy Buds4 opt for an open design, which should make them more comfortable to wear for extended periods, though open designs tend to have weaker active noise cancellation (ANC).
Both models have Enhanced Adaptive ANC that selectively mutes or boosts sounds (e.g. engine noise is reduced, but siren sounds are dialed up). Similarly, the buds feature Super Clear Call, which delivers 16kHz audio and keeps it clear with strong noise reduction.
The Galaxy Buds4 are available in Black and White, while the Buds4 Pro also have a Pink Gold option as an online exclusive.

These buds will work with any phone. However, Galaxy users get a smoother experience and extra features. The Buds4 can connect to a Galaxy phone without needing the app – the Quick Panel will show easy-to-access controls including a volume slider, ANC toggles, a dial for the ambient sound volume and more.
The buds offer hands-free control too, e.g. you can nod to accept a call or shake your head to reject a call. You can also summon Bixby and give it commands to control your smart home devices. Finally, the Interpreter feature does real-time translation between multiple languages.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro can be pre-ordered starting today and will be available from March 11 (the same launch date as the Galaxy S26 series). The base model costs $180 / €180, while the Pros can be had for $250 / €250. These are the same prices as the Buds3 and Buds3 Pro in 2024.
