Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra to feature next-generation M16 OLED panel

According to industry sources, cited by ET News, Samsung is preparing to equip the upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup, or more specifically the S27 Pro and the S27 Ultra, with its next-generation M16 OLED panel. The panel will deliver higher brightness performance, improved energy efficiency, longer lifespan and more accurate color reproduction.

Interestingly enough, the M16 OLED won’t debut with the Galaxy S27 series. Samsung and iQOO have both confirmed during an event in China that the M16 OLED will be used by the upcoming iQOO 16. Also, reports have emerged claiming that the new iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Duo rely on the M16 panel.

What about the vanilla Galaxy S27 and the S27+? Well, the same report suggests that the two will settle for the M14 OLED. Still, that’s a step up from the M13 panels used in the Galaxy S26 and S26+.

Last but not least, the report also hints at a similar upgrade with the Galaxy Z Fold9 series, which will move beyond the M13 OLEDs.
