A couple of times already, Samsung has been rumored to remove a camera from its upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra, the phone thus having three rear cameras instead of the four of its predecessor.
And now a new rumor from a tipster on X purports to give us the first idea of what to expect from the S27 Ultra’s telephoto camera. If this is true, it looks like Samsung is going to be replacing both telephotos from the S26 Ultra with one new camera, using a 1/1.9″ type sensor.

This camera will allegedly have 4x optical zoom, which is right in between the S26 Ultra’s two telephotos, one at 3x and the other at 5x. The S26 Ultra’s 5x camera uses a 1/2.52″ type sensor, while the 3x camera uses a 1/3.94″ type sensor, so the new sensor will be a massive upgrade in sheer size and light-gathering capabilities.
