Samsung is already working on Galaxy A18 firmware builds

Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy A18 4G, in fact the company is already developing test firmware for the device as you can see in the screenshot below which originates on Samsung’s test server for Europe.

The phone will have the model number SM-A185F. Interestingly, because Samsung is using the SHA256 hash for these builds instead of the older MD5 format, the Galaxy A18 4G may launch with One UI 9 on board from day one.

If that’s the case, then it will only get official in late summer or in the fall, since One UI 9 is expected to make its debut next month on the company’s next-gen foldables. For what it’s worth, the Galaxy A17 4G launched in September of 2025, so that might be the month when its successor arrives as well.

Before that, in August of 2025, Samsung launched the 5G version of the Galaxy A17, and we expect that the Galaxy A18 will have a 5G capable option as well. Whether it will also debut before the A18 4G remains to be seen.
