Co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, the project marks Alia’s second collaboration with Bhansali following her National Award-winning performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi.’ Despite earlier rumors of significant delays and a potential 2027 shift, Alia’s latest update suggests the production is back on track for a 2026 theatrical release.

According to Hindustan Times, during a conversation with Vogue Italia, Alia Bhatt confirmed that the production is moving at a brisk pace, stating, “We are at the tail end of filming. It has been quite a magical experience.”

For Alia, ‘Love & War’ isn’t just another project; it’s a reunion with the man who helped her secure a National Award. Following the massive success of the 2022 film, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, the actor expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to work under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s vision once again.“Working with Sanjay Sir is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I am so grateful that I get to do it,” Alia shared.

About ‘Love & War’

The film boasts a powerhouse trio: Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. This marks a significant onscreen reunion for the actors, particularly for Ranbir and Bhansali, who last worked together on the director’s debut, ‘Saawariya.’ Despite the filming nearing its conclusion, the release date remains a topic of intense debate since its original release window of Christmas 2025. Reports suggested that the release was pushed to March 20, 2026. While Ranbir Kapoor confirmed a postponement during a recent Instagram Live, official sources suggest the film is committed to a 2026 release, despite rumors of it sliding into 2027.

What’s next for Alia Bhatt?

Alia Bhatt was last seen in the 2024 film, ‘Jigra’ with Manoj Pahwa and Vedang Raina. According to Sacnilk, the film minted a wordlwide collection of around 57 crores. This year, Bhatt will also be seen in ‘Alpha’ with Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol, slated for a release on April 17, 2026. It is touted to be the first female-led installment in the YRF Spy Universe.
