SSB chief inspects security at Raxaul border points
In a crucial assessment of border security, Additional Director General Rekha Lohani of the Sashastra Seema Bal visited Raxaul to discuss the India-Nepal border situation. Her visit underscored the importance of heightened vigilance and strategies to alleviate traffic bottlenecks.

Motihari: ADG of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Rekha Lohani, on Thursday visited the India-Nepal border and reviewed the security arrangements of the 47 Battalion of SSB. During her visit, she provided necessary guidance to officers considering the sensitivity of border security and boosted the morale of the force’s personnel.She visited the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI), the Integrated Check Post (ICP) and the Maitri bridge, the main transit point at Raxaul between India and Nepal. She gathered on-ground information about the security arrangements from the SSB personnel deployed there. Lohani specifically discussed the issue of traffic congestion at the border and asked officials to maintain utmost vigilance in identifying and checking citizens crossing the border to ensure foolproof security.After inspecting the Maitri bridge, the ADG visited the headquarters of the 47 Battalion of SSB. She interacted directly with the personnel and inquired about their duty-related problems. She praised the soldiers for their work in ensuring border security even in difficult circumstances and, while boosting their morale, emphasised the vital role of the SSB in serving the nation.Sanjay Pandey, commandant of the 47 Battalion, Hari Prakash, DIG of SSB sector headquarters Bettiah, and second command officer Sanjay Rawat were present at the meeting. Besides, Mohan Bahadur Chhatri, SP of the Armed Police Force of Nepal, also participated in the meeting.
