Director Sudipto Sen has said he does not plan to produce films again as he focuses on directing projects that tell powerful stories. The filmmaker, known for the controversial hit ‘The Kerala Story,’ opened up about his upcoming film ‘Charak: Fair of Faith’ and the lessons he learned from producing. He shared that the financial pressure and responsibility of production pushed him to rethink his role in filmmaking.

In an interview with the Free Press Journal, Sen spoke about his new project, ‘Charak: Fair of Faith,’ which explores faith and ritual practices. The director described the film as a deeply researched story that looks at traditions connected to the Charak festival.Speaking about his experience with production, Sen said he does not want to take on that responsibility again. “I will not produce again. It is a very tough job. When you produce a film, you carry the entire burden on your shoulders.”He explained that directing allows him to stay focused on storytelling without the constant pressure of managing finances and logistics. “I want to concentrate on direction. That is where my strength lies,” he said.Sen also stressed that ‘Charak: Fair of Faith’ is not meant to judge or sensationalize religious practices.
