Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled the Vision e Sky electric car in its close-to-production avatar in Japan. It’s the brand’s smallest electric offering, measuring 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width and 1,625mm in height. The EV sits on a 2,460mm long wheelbase, and weighs 1,030mmkg. It has a turning radius of 4.4 metres, making it easier to manoeuvre on congested and narrow roads.
Design Highlights
As a typical Kei car, the Suzuki Vision e Sky features a tall and boxy stance with a compact body built. Painted in an exclusive Immersion Blue colour, the electric car gets a slim black connecting panel at the front, rectangular headlamps with C-shaped LED signatures, contrasting black roof, squared wheel arches, small wheels, a flat tailgate, vertically stacked taillamps and a roof mounted spoiler.
Key Features
Suzuki’s smallest electric car comes equipped with V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality, enabling its battery to power external electrical equipment. The EV also offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, app based connected navigation and several modern features.
Battery & Range
The battery capacity, power figures and charging time are yet to be revealed. The new Suzuki electric car is expected to feature BYD’s LFP (Lithium iron phosphate) cells and target a driving range of 310km.
Launch Timeline
In Japan, the Suzuki e Sky will be introduced by the end of March, 2027. Suzuki’s manufacturing facility in Shizuoka Prefecture, located southwest of Tokyo will serve as production base for the new electric car. The EV’s production ready version will have world premiere this autumn in Japan. Exports to European market are likely to begun in 2027.
As of now, there is no official word on its India launch. However, Maruti Suzuki is reportedly exploring a new affordable model as a replacement for the Maruti Ignis.
