Tata Sierra AWD Launch In 2027

The Sierra EV will join the lineup in early 2026, possibly in January. Interestingly, both the ICE-powered and electric iteration of the SUV will receive an AWD (all-wheel drive) system in 2027. The information comes from Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Motors.

The company has revealed that the all-new Sierra is based on the ARGOS (All-terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable Architecture) platform that’s compatible to multiple body styles, wheelbases, powertrains and drivetrain systems. The Sierra EV AWD version will arrive first, followed by the ICE-powered AWD version.

Tata Sierra EV – Battery & Range (Expected)

Tata Motors hasn’t yet revealed the technical specifications of the Sierra EV; however, it’s expected to share powertrain with the Harrier EV. The latter comes with two battery pack options – a 65kWh with RWD (in lower trims) and a 75kWh with AWD (in higher variants). Similar to the Harrier EV, the Sierra electric AWD version might offer multiple drive and terrain modes. Its driving range is expected to be over 550km per charge.

Minimal EV-specific design changes and software updates are expected, while retaining the entire design language, cabin layout and features of the ICE-counterpart.
