The much-awaited Tata Sierra EV is all set to hit showrooms on June 30, 2026. Ahead of its official debut next week, Tata Motors has revealed the electric SUV along with some of its interesting details. The latest video confirms that the Sierra EV will be available a QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) system, enhancing its capability across different terrains. It’s essentially an AWD (all-wheel drive) system consisting two electric motors with one mounted on each axle.

A similar QWD setup is already available on the top-end Tata Harrier EV Fearless + trim, which comes packed with a 75kWh battery pack, dual electric motors (158PS at the front and 238PS at the rear) and the QWD system. This configuration delivers a cumulative torque of 504Nm, and enables the Harrier EV to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 6.3 seconds. The Tata Sierra EV is likely to share its powertrain options with the Harrier EV; however, its performance figures could be slightly different.

The lower and mid-spec trims of the Sierra EV could be offered with a smaller 65kWh battery pack, paired with a single electric motor. While the official driving range will be announced at its launch, the electric SUV is expected to deliver over 500km of range on a full charge.
Design & Interior
The Tata Sierra EV QWD dual-motor version will feature a ‘QWD’ badge on the tailgate. Styling elements such as a closed-off grille, revised bumpers and new aero-optimized alloy wheels will further differentiate it from its ICE version.
Similar to its ICE counterpart, the Sierra EV will be well-equipped, offering a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 13-speaker JBL audio system, augmented-reality HUD (Head-Up Display), 6-way powered driver’s seat, iRA connected car suite, rear AC vents, 6 airbags, traction control, Level 2 ADAS and more.
Rivals & Pricing
The Tata Sierra EV will be a direct rival to the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV. It’s expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh – Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
