Tata Motors has announced a new premium EV brand, Avinya, which is likely to debut in late 2026 or early 2027. The carmaker will setup a dedicated retail channel for the upcoming Avinya EVs; however, the details of the product and marketing strategy are yet to be revealed. With this new premium EV brand, Tata aims to bridge the gap between mass-market and luxury EV segments.

The upcoming Tata Avinya EVs will be based on JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Range Rover Evoque (EV), Velar (EV) and Baby Land Rover Defender (EV). Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, the EV subsidiary of Tata Motors, has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for licensing EMA platform.

Design & Styling
Tata has officially confirmed that Avinya EVs will debut radical styling as previewed by the Avinya X concept showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The coupe crossover features DRLs with Matrix technology, sharply raked front and rear windscreens, gloss black finishes on both bumpers, an expanded ‘T’ moniker at the front and rear with an LED lighting signature, dual-tone wheels and C-pillar with contrasting finish.
Interior & Features
To improve practicality, Tata is likely to make a few changes the concept’s interior for the production model. The showcased coupe crossover concept has a floating central infotainment system inspired by the Range Rover. A dual-tone dashboard, a new two-spoke steering wheel, and a lounge-like 4-seater configuration add more to its premium appeal.

On feature front, the Avinya range is expected to offer high-end tech including V2L (vehicle-to-load), V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) capabilities, an ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system), a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone auto AC, a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera and more.
Battery & Range
Powertrain details will be revealed closer to its debut or launch. However, the Tata Avinya is expected to feature a larger battery pack, offer a driving range of over 500km and support fast charging.
