Tesla Model Y L Price In India Rs 61.99 Lakh – 681km Range, AWD & 6-Seater SUV


The Tesla Model Y L, essentially the long-wheelbase six-seater version of the Model Y, has been launched in India at Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In the model lineup, it sits above the Model Y Premium RWD (Rs 59.89 lakh) and below the Model Y Premium Long Range RWD (Rs 57.89 lakh). This means the long-wheelbase version is nearly Rs 5.90 lakh more affordable than the Long Range RWD and Rs 2.10 lakh costlier than the base Premium RWD variant.

In India, the Model Y Long Wheelbase version will compete with models such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS and EQB and MG M9, which are currently available in the price range of Rs 70 lakh – Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom).

681km Range, AWD & More

According to information available on the official website, the Tesla Model Y L features a dual-motor AWD (all-wheel drive) setup, and claims a driving range of 681km (WLTP). However, the battery capacity has not yet been disclosed by the carmaker. The Model Y Long Wheelbase version accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in just 5 seconds and offers a top speed of 201kmph. It also supports V2L (Vehicle-to-load) bi-directional charging.

Longer, Taller & More Spacious

Dimensionally, the new 6-seater Tesla Model Y L measures 4,976mm in length, 1,920mm in width and 1,668mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,040mm. It’s 186mm longer and 44mm taller than the standard variant along with having a 150mm longer wheelbase. However, the ground clearance has been reduced to 122mm. Compared to the standard version, the long-wheelbase variant offers more boot space, measuring 2,539-litres. It also comes with a 116-lites of frunk.

Seating Arrangement

The Tesla Model Y L offers 2+2+2 seating layout with individual captain seats for the second-row passengers. These seats come with heating function, power two-way folding and retractable inner armrests. The third-row seats offer dedicated AC vents mounted on the C-pillar, USB Type-C ports and cupholders along with 50:50 split folding function.
