The huge battery trend may have started with smartphones, but feature phones are getting in on it too – HMD just announced the Nokia 300 Charge, which has more than double the battery capacity of a typical feature phone.
The Charge is equipped with a 3,700mAh battery and a USB-C port. This port can fill up the internal battery at 10W and – at the push of the dedicated “Out” button on the side – can also do 10W reverse charging.

Now, 3,700mAh doesn’t sound huge, but we can’t compare this to smartphones. Look at the Nokia 110 Power, for example – it has a 1,750mAh battery. And that’s a phone with “Power” in its name. The Nokia 105 (2023) has only a 1,000mAh battery.
HMD claims that the 300 Charge can last over 40 days on standby and up to 37 hours of talk time. This could make it a good backup phone, but keep in mind that it’s very, very limited – it only has dual-band 2G connectivity (900MHz and 1,800MHz), which means that it won’t even work in a lot of countries.

The phone also has a flashlight on the top side – this is apparently 4x brighter than the Nokia 105 flashlight and 2x brighter than an iPhone 16 Pro. And yes, this is a flashlight, not a camera flash, even though this model does have a camera (if we’re still calling 320 x 240px sensors that).
With its angular design, textured sides, Sandstone and Green colorways, the Nokia 300 Charge certainly tries to sell a rugged look. However, there are no water resistance or impact protection claims on the specs page. You may want to check out the Nokia 123 Shield (IP65, 1,750mAh battery) or HMD Terra M (IP69K, 2,510mAh) if you want something actually rugged.

Anyway, the Charge measures 136.6mm tall, 55mm wide and a fairly chunky 14.94mm thick too – and it weighs 138g. The phone has a 2.4” LCD with 320 x 240px resolution and runs the S30+ OS on an Unisoc SC6531E chipset. With 4MB – no, not 4GB – of RAM and 4MB of storage you shouldn’t expect much. There is a microSD slot, though, with support for cards up to 32GB. And yes, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Nokia 300 Charge can be found in the Philippines on retailers like Lazada, which is asking PHP 2,190 for it – this converts to $35 / €30 / ₹3,400. Shopee has it at PHP 1,990 instead. We also spotted it on Shopee Malaysia for MYR 148 ($37 / €31 / ₹3,500). Note that the phone is sold as the “Nokia 300 Power Bank” instead of the “Charge”.
