Maruti Mini MPV

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch a sub-4 metre MPV in 2026. According to media reports, this new model will be based on the Suzuki Spacia, which is already on sale in Japanese market. Similar to its donor model, the new Maruti mini MPV is expected to carry upright and boxy stance. However, it will lack some premium features offered on the Japan-spec Spacia such as sliding doors and ADAS. Its official engine specifications are yet to be revealed. The compact MPV is likely to be offered with an 82bhp, 1.2L petrol engine and Maruti Suzuki’s all-new strong hybrid powertrain options.

Renault Boreal

Globally, the 7-seater Renault Duster has been unveiled as the ‘Renault Boreal’, which will make its way to India in late 2026 or early 2027. It will share the platform, powertrains, design elements and features with the 5-seater Duster. The global-spec Boreal will be offered with a 108bhp petrol engine, paired with a 51bhp electric motor, a starter generator and a 1.4kWh battery pack. Its combined power will be 155bhp.

Nissan’s 7-Seater SUV

Nissan’s upcoming 7-seater SUV will share its platform, features and powertrain with the Renault Boreal. However, its design language will be completely different from its donor model. This new three-row SUV is expected to borrow some styling cues from the Magnite. Under the hood, the model is likely to feature the 115bhp, petrol-hybrid powertrain along with the naturally aspirated or turbo petrol engine options.

Hyundai Ni1i

Hyundai has planned a new three-row SUV for the Indian market, codenamed Ni1i. Production of this new Hyundai 7-seater SUV will begin in 2027 at the carmaker’s Talegaon manufacturing facility, with an annual target of 50,000 units. It will be longer than the Tucson and could be offered with the hybrid version of Hyundai’s 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Kia MQ4i

Kia will foray into the premium 7-seater SUV segment with a new model, codenamed MQ4i. This new SUV is likely to be based on the globally sold Kia Sorento. It will be based on the lightweight N3 platform, which has been designed to accommodate ADAS and support multiple powertrains. Similar to the upcoming Hyundai Ni1i, the new Kia 7-seater SUV will use the 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain.
