India’s solar industry faces another challenge in the form of China. Most of the solar cells and silicon wafers used in Indian panel production are imported from Chinese suppliers. At the same time, China itself dominates the sector, controlling more than 80% of global solar manufacturing across all stages, according to the International Energy Agency.
