vivo X300 Ultra is official with near 1″ 35mm camera, new 200MP 85mm zoom

The vivo X300 Ultra has just arrived officially! It continues the refinement of the series and doesn’t diverge from the core specs of its predecessors.

That means, its camera system has gotten better with both better hardware and software, but it’s fundamentally the same 14mm + 35mm + 85mm premier-quality setup.

The vivo X200 Ultra brought the large sensor 1/1.28-inch 14mm ultrawide, and the X300 Ultra seemingly reuses it for 2026. The 85mm zoom may sound the same – 200MP 1/1.4-inch – but it uses Samsung’s newer ISOCELL HP0 sensor, which brings twice as fast autofocus (vivo claims 60 af updates per second), reduced power consumption, and debuts 3° Gimbal-Grade OIS, which vivo says achieves a CIPA 7.0 stabilization rating. On the lens front, however, the new 85mm zoom has an aperture of f/2.67, which is dimmer than the f/2.27 on the vivo X200 Ultra.

Then there’s the new main camera. It’s still a classic reportage 35mm focal length, but sits in front of a larger 1/1.12-inch 200MP Sony Lytia 901 imager (vs 1/1.28-inch 50MP) – that’s nearly 1-inch and four times the resolution.

Sensor aside, the lens uses a new, industry-leading 1G+6P coating technology, which vivo says reduces reflectivity by 20%. It’s also CIPA 6.5 rated for professional stabilization. The 35mm lens’s aperture is f/1.85, which is (again) dimmer than the X200 Ultra’s f/1.69.

Finally, on the lenses front, vivo has two new teleconverters to go along with the X300 Ultra’s 200MP telephoto – the 400mm 17.4x teleconverter, dubbed the “Cannon 400”, and a new, smaller 200mm 8.7x, called the “Lipstick 200”. There’s also a new photography kit, called the vivo Imaging Grip Kit – we have a hands-on here.

There are two other imaging improvements to talk about – video and vivo’s new color science. The X300 Ultra debuts a few video-centric features – one is full focal length OIS (all cameras get optical stabilization, the telephoto has the best), there’s 3D LUT (look up table) import support, and multi-focal 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video support. Vivo’s log format is compatible with the ACES pro post-production workflow.

Vivo has developed a new Photography App, which features a 3D LUT library for different color styles. Also, the X300 Ultra supports vivo’s self-developed Multi-Focal 4K Master Color Video – a color tone pipeline based on vivo’s new color science, so let’s talk about it.

Vivo’s new color science first takes the reading from a new 50MP True Color Lens with 12 spectral channels, which enables pixel-level color and tonal accuracy. It gets a bit technical from there. A Smooth EV dynamic compression algorithm intelligently reads multi-frame HDR data to preserve highlights and protect tones. From there, vivo’s color science can tune the results personally to you, to be more filmic, or vivid, or anything else; it’s up to the creator.

Body-wise, the X300 Ultra looks a lot like its predecessor. Upfront is a 6.82-inch 3168x1440p Ultra XDR AMOLED with a faster 1-144Hz refresh rate. On the side, the X300 Ultra drops the capacitive camera button in favor of a cleaner look.
