vivo’s upcoming flagship series will probably be called X500, to avoid the number 4 due to tetraphobia. These will of course be the successors to the X300 line.
Today in China, prolific leaker Digital Chat Station has seemingly revealed what we can expect from the X500 family in terms of screens. While he doesn’t mention the exact model names, he does say there will be one device with a 6.37-inch flat LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution, and another device employing a 6.83-inch flat LTPO OLED panel with 2K resolution.
There’s also a third option that’s allegedly still pending (so whether it will launch or not isn’t decided yet). This would have a 6.59-inch flat LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K resolution.
Since we assume DCS isn’t talking about the vivo X500 Ultra coming next year and only the models launching in China this fall, it’s easy to identify the 6.37″ display device as the X500, and the 6.83-inch phone as the X500 Pro.
It’s less clear what the in-betweener will be called. Maybe that gets the FE designation, maybe it will be the Pro and the bigger one will be called Pro Max instead, it’s still too early to tell. We will however let you know when we find out more.
