Volkswagen India has launched a more affordable variant of its flagship SUV – the Tayron. Called the Volkswagen Tayron Life, the new variant has been priced at Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the Tayron R-Line, it’s nearly Rs 5 lakh more affordable, though it misses out on several sporty design elements.
Colour Options
The SUV lineup is available in seven colour options including Dolphin Grey Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Oyster Silver Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Ultraviolet Metallic, Oryx White Mother-of-Pearl Effect and Grenadilla Black Metallic.
Design Highlights
Upfront, the VW Tayron Life features a radiator grille with an integrated light signature and illuminated Volkswagen emblem, LED headlamps with full LED lens system and body-coloured bumper with silver-coloured front bar.
Other styling elements include black roof rails and body-coloured door panelling, door handles with trough lighting and exterior mirror with projection lighting, 18-inch “Bologna” alloy wheels with black diamond-turned finish and 3D LED rear combination lamps with illuminated Volkswagen badge.

Interior of the Volkswagen Tayron Life looks identical to the sportier Tayron R-Line, expect for the absence of the ‘R’ badges. Key features include:

Turbo-Petrol Engine
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Tayron Life features the same 2.0L turbo petrol engine that powers the Tayron R-Line. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, this motor pushes out a maximum power of 204bhp and 320Nm of torque. The SUV comes with 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology. Suspension duties are performed by an independent McPherson Strut setup with coil springs at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear.
