Inside, the SUV is expected to offer a modern cabin with a digital instrument cluster, a large central touchscreen and a three-spoke steering wheel. Under the hood, the India-spec Tayron R-Line is expected to use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, the same unit seen on the Tiguan R-Line. This engine produces around 204 h) and 320 Nm of torque and will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Volkswagen is expected to bring the Tayron to India via the CKD route and assemble it at its Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plant. The SUV is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2026 and will initially be offered in the sporty R-Line trim.
