Yesterday, Xiaomi officially announced the launch date for the 17T and 17T Pro: May 28. Today, the company’s arm in India has started teasing the fact that the series will also be available in that market.
That’s interesting since it’s been years since a T series Xiaomi device was officially launched in India. But at least one of these two will. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed whether both the 17T and the 17T Pro will be offered in the country, and there’s plenty of speculation online saying that only the cheaper model will make the cut.

But of course that’s just what that is – speculation. So for now we wouldn’t take it too seriously. Xiaomi should make everything official next week, which is when we’ll know. The company bills the 17T family as its “biggest T series upgrade yet”, which sounds quite exciting.
On the other hand, Xiaomi hasn’t explained why the 17T and 17T Pro are launching only eight months after their predecessors, when usually the gap was almost exactly one year. Maybe it will do so during the launch event? Stay tuned and we’ll let you know.
