Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max may have just been certified

Xiaomi’s upcoming 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max may have just been certified for sale in China. The two devices both support 100W wired charging, and they have UWB on board as well.

They are expected to be launched in China in September, and will very likely be the first phones to use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC.

Digital Chat Station on Weibo says the duo will get improved screens, cameras, performance, and peripherals. However, the vanilla Xiaomi 18 won’t be joining them. Once again Xiaomi is rumored to be emulating Apple’s strategy, and this time around it’s not about naming but release timing.

The Xiaomi 18 is now rumored to arrive in December, perhaps alongside the 18 Max. Thus the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be the only devices to become official in September in China, and the larger device may get a global launch at some point after that. Speaking of which, the Pro Max could very well be Xiaomi’s top of the line device for quite some time, if a recent rumor about the Xiaomi 18 Ultra’s cancellation is to be believed.
