The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are set to launch tomorrow in China, and the company has now revealed more details about their rear camera systems. Xiaomi has also shared camera samples captured with the upcoming phones ahead of the launch.
In separate posts on Weibo, Xiaomi shared key hardware specifications of the dual 200MP rear cameras on the upcoming 18 Pro lineup.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will feature a Leica 200MP primary rear camera with a 1/1.28 inch sensor, paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera that uses a 1/1.56 inch sensor.
The periscope telephoto camera will feature an f/2.4 aperture and support 3.2x optical zoom. It will have a 75mm native focal length and support macro focusing from as close as 12cm.
According to Xiaomi, the telephoto camera on the 18 Pro can capture 280% more light than the one on the 17 Pro. Meanwhile, the 18 Pro Max is claimed to offer 83 percent higher light intake than the 17 Pro Max.
Xiaomi has also shared several camera samples captured with the new main and the telephoto cameras on the 18 Pro series.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be unveiled in China tomorrow. The upcoming flagships will feature an upgraded rear display, a hardware level privacy display, and larger batteries than their predecessors.
Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
