Xiaomi’s latest Wear OS smartwatch is here, and it means serious business. Meet the Xiaomi Watch 5, a no-compromises smartwatch with a massive battery. Before we go through the numbers, let’s do an unboxing.
The Watch 5 ships with Xiaomi’s typical two-pin magnetic charger. We’re not fans of it. First, it ends on a USB-A connection, not a USB-C, which isn’t ideal in early 2026. Second, the two-pin design means you need to fiddle when placing the watch down to charge. It’d be much easier if Xiaomi went with a universal magnetic design, like Samsung and OnePlus.
Charger aside, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is as close to a no-compromises smartwatch as you can get. It runs Wear OS 6, powers the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, and also has the BES2800 low-power chip for lower-end tasks.
The watch has a 47mm stainless steel case and a flat sapphire glass layer over the 1.54-inch AMOLED display. The watch weighs 56 grams without the strap.
What’s truly impressive is the battery. The Xiaomi Watch 5 has a 930mAh power pack. That’s massive. Compare that with the OnePlus Watch 3’s perceptively huge 648mAh battery – the Xiaomi Watch 5 has a 43% bigger battery!
Xiaomi recons you can get a total of 6 days of endurance – unheard of for a Wear OS watch!
Design-wise, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is a classy timepiece. It has a timeless design with the silver and black casing with the dual lugs on either side. The right side of the watch has a rotating crown that doubles as a pusher. Below it, there’s a workout button.
We’re doing a full review of the Xiaomi Watch 5, folks. Keep an eye out for that!
