2 New Hyundai Creta & Creta Electric Rivals Launching in Next 14 Days


Tata Motors and Nissan India are gearing up to launch new rivals to the Hyundai Creta Electric and ICE-powered Creta rivals over the next two weeks. The much-awaited Tata Sierra EV will go on sale on June 30, while the Nissan Tekton will make its official debut on July 9, 2026. Here’re expected prices and key details of these upcoming midsize SUVs.

Upcoming Midsize SUVs in India

Tata Sierra EV
Expected Price – Rs 18 lakh – Rs 25 lakh

Ahead of its market launch, Tata Motors has revealed the new Sierra EV through an official video. While powertrain details are yet to be revealed, the electric SUV is likely to borrow the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs from the Tata Harrier EV. Higher variants will be exclusively offered with a dual motor QWD or AWD configuration. It’s expected to deliver a driving range of over 500km on a single charge.

The teaser confirms that the Tata Sierra EV will feature a body-coloured closed-off grille, a faux sliver skid plate, redesigned front bumper with gloss black finish and ‘Sierra.ev’ branding on the front doors and tailgates.

The cabin layout and features of the Tata Sierra EV will be largely similar to its ICE counterpart. The SUV is likely to offer a triple screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, augmented-reality HUD, a panoramic sunroof, a 13-speaker JBL audio system, iRA connected car suite, Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags and more.

Nissan Tekton
Expected Price – Rs 10 lakh – Rs 19 lakh

Nissan Tekton

The Nissan Tekton is a rebadged version of the Renault Duster, featuring design language inspired by the flagship Nissan Patrol SUV. The front fascia looks aggressive with a large black grille with a red strip and a Nissan badge in the centre, connected LED DRLs with inverted L-shaped LEDs and a raised bonnet line. Other design highlights include prominent squared-off wheel arches, bold side cladding, connected LED taillamps, a faux silver skid plate and a small integrated roof spoiler.

Under the hood, the Nissan Tekton will feature the Renault Duster-sourced 100bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 162bhp, 1.3L turbo petrol engines. The SUV will also carry forward the transmission options with the Duster.
