Maruti Suzuki is all prepared to launch the Baleno facelift on September 5, 2026. The hatchback will receive significant design changes and feature upgrades, along with a new three-cylinder petrol engine. Furthermore, the new 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift will become the brand’s first model to offer a CNG-AMT engine-gearbox combination. Several other key upgrades which will make the new model a more value-for-money offering.

8 Big Changes You Need To Know
1. The biggest upgrade will be the introduction of the 1.2-litre Z12 three-cylinder petrol engine, borrowed from the Swift hatchback. Compared to the outgoing 4-cylinder engine engine, the newer unit will be lighter and more compact, which should enhance overall performance and fuel efficiency.
2. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is reported planning to hybridize its 1.2L, 3-cylinder engine for its mass-market offerings in near future. The introduction of this new engine will make the Baleno compatible with a the strong hybrid powertrain.
3. The new 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift will also be offered with a new CNG-AMT combo for the first time.
4. In terms of features, the updated Baleno is expected to get a wireless phone charging pad along with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats and updated audio system.
5. On the safety front, the hatchback might offer Level 1 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), which could be reserved for the top-end trim. The safety kit is likely to offer blind spot warning, safe-exist warning and rear cross traffic along with front parking sensors.
6. Noticeable changes will also be made on the exterior. The new 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift is likely to feature a slightly revised front grille, tweaked front and rear bumpers, redesigned headlamps connected via a new LED element, and newly-designed alloy wheels.
7. The hatchback lineup could also be offered in new colour options, while its dimensions are expected to remain unchanged.
8. A minimal price hike is expected for the facelifted model. The existing Baleno is currently available within price range of Rs 5.99 lakh – Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom).
